Hi! GFDL is no longer an accepted license. So I checked the permission. Do you agree that it also mention cc-by-sa-3.0? MGA73 (talk) 08:50, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- I agree. Ww2censor (talk) 21:59, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
2016 commemoration of the Easter Rising
[edit]Regarding the above category, I think that the removal of a scene in College Green from it by you was an error. The scene did indeed take place as part of the 2016 commemoration of the Easter Rising. Laurel Lodged (talk) 06:55, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
- Laurel Lodged: Please remind me which image that was. IIRC there was nothing commemorative about the image but I'll need to review it. Ww2censor (talk) 22:18, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
- Laurel Lodged: I found the image File:College Street, Dublin - Easter 2016.jpg you mention and reviewed it again. As I remembered it there is really nothing in the image that provides any context to the 1916 commemorations, just a streetscape devoid of traffic but with a few some people. I have stood in that street, on a Sunday, and waited patiently for all the traffic to clear in order to take some photos for a client. You decide but I don't see the reason to keep such a category. Ww2censor (talk) 11:13, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- The empty street is proof of the celebration. It's the non-evidence evidence. The only reason that the street was clear was because the entire area - including O'Connell street - was a mass pedestrian zone for the day. First and only time that that has happened in the 21st century. That's notable. Laurel Lodged (talk) 16:41, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- Laurel Lodged: I'm sorry it's not evidence that "The empty street is proof of the celebration". As I told you, it does not take a street closure for College Street to be empty of traffic but still with a few people walking around. Other streets like O'Connell Street or Westmoreland Street may be a different matter. I still don't see anything to justify the category. Ww2censor (talk) 19:20, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- The date and time stamp and coords are the proof of the event. It only happened on that day in that place. It's not a funny coincidence. Laurel Lodged (talk) 21:55, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
