Navy Day, a holiday to celebrate the US's naval armed forces, was established in October 1922. The 1945 Navy Day was the first post-war Navy Day, and ships at fifty-six different berths celebrated the event. This image was taken by Tom Blackmore of Larchmont, New York. |
